FAQ

How do I send my fan in for service?

Motor servicing must first be approved by customer service. Once approved you will receive a form and instructions for mailing in your motor.

Where is my TAL Case Number and Service Rep Email?

Both are noted in the email sent to you with the Motor Service Form attached. If you cannot locate this information, contact customer service immediately.

How much will this service cost?

The cost of repair and shipping back to you is completely free. However, you will need to pay for shipping to the motor servicing facility. If there are defective components that are not covered by the motor warranty (like receivers, remotes, or capacitors), you will need to pay for the replacement parts as well.

How long will the repairs take?

Up to 15 business days, but sometimes much sooner. If replacement motors are out of stock for motor that cannot be repaired the wait can be much longer.

How do I check the status and timeline for my motor repair?

Use the “Check Motor Service Status” tool to find the status of your motor repair and for an ETA for completion. You will need the correct TAL case number that was provided by email. It will take 1-2 business days after the fan is received by the motor warranty department for your motor status to appear in the search tool.

What happens if my fan is damaged during shipping?

You are responsible for your motor’s condition until it arrives at the repair facility. If the motor is received damaged the warranty will be voided and it will not be serviced. You must ship your fan via UPS and insure for $100 to avoid any issues. PACK WELL AND INSURE YOUR PACKAGE!

Can I disassemble the motor to save on shipping costs?

You can remove simple plates and housings from the motor if they are only held down with screws and do not have modules required for fan operation (like switches or pull chains). Do not remove plates or housings held down with bolts/nuts. Do not cut any wires or remove any modules from the motor.

What happens if my motor cannot be repaired?

Motors under warranty that cannot be repaired will be replaced with a new motor. If a model has been discontinued then you will receive a limited list of fans of equal or superior value. We will not issue checks or money orders under any circumstance.
