Canopy receivers take commands from the remote and manage the fan’s lower speeds and light functions. A starting capacitor inside the motor helps get the fan to its highest speed. Canopy receivers can be bypassed to see whether it is defective or the starting capacitor is defective. Compatible replacement parts can be ordered by contacting customer service.
